  • MEDHUNT . A medical search engine that allows users to type in key words to find appropriate sites.
  • NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH. A gateway to the extensive resources of Federal agencies, including a list of diseases being studied by the various institutes.
  • CENTERWATCH   lists clinical trials on various diseases, including a summary of the research and information on whom to contact.
  • NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MEDICINE  provides access to the world’s largest biomedical library, including notice of important findings issued before studies have been published. For general health information, try the library’s easy-access site: www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus
  • MAYO CLINIC. This famous clinic’s Web site provides accessible health information and allows users to E-mail questions to clinic physicians.
  • Cochrane Reviews The Cochrane Library is an electronic publication designed to supply high quality evidence to inform people providing and receiving care, and those responsible for research, teaching, funding and administration at all levels. It is published quarterly on CD-ROM and the Internet, and is distributed on a subscription basis (see How to subscribe).
